I had the good fortune to stumble on this place whilst out in London with a friend. I didn’t ask them about whether they had a policy on playing music, however when we were there there wasn’t any, or at least it was so low that you couldn’t really hear it.
The restaurant does a nice range of standard Italian fare, with a range of pizzas and vegetarian options. Not particularly expensive, a good alternative to pizza hut\pizza express etc.

Closed Tuesdays
A country pub in Chignall St James, near Chelmsford (a comfortable bike ride from Chelmsford for us, and there's also ample parking).
The main outside seating is next to the (mainish) road, however there are also some outside tables tucked away around the back, which backs on to fields.
When we visited, the pub was showing Wimbledon on the tele (at a reasonable volume), so it would be worth checking what the normal background is.
The owners were friendly, and there was a nice variety of food. Not everything appeared on the menu.

Station: Graal-Müritz (15 mins), reached by local trains from Rostock.
If you see a bakery with a queue out of the door - morning and afternoon - you know it's going to be good. Gottschalk's Bakery is recommended for the baked goods and the coffee and also for the bustle of a busy shop, untainted by musical wallpaper when we were there last summer. There's a small indoor cafe beyond the bakery counter, with more tables outside. Graal-Müritz is a seaside resort with a sandy beach on the fringes of the North Sea port of Rostock.
I didn't check beforehand whether there was piped music when I went. If there was, it was too low to be noticeable.
Large, popular Italian restuarant on Manningtree High Street.
Plenty of parking on the High Street when I went on a Sunday evening.
Woodbrooke Quaker Study Centre has an excellent B&B with many rooms.
See www.woodbrooke.org.uk. It is situated near Selly Oak, not far from Birmingham.
I highly recommended for B & B the Woodbrooke Quaker Study Centre www.woodbrooke.org.uk. For a mere £46 I recently stayed for one night in a lovely quiet room ensuite, simple but very comfortable. The elegant house used to be the home of one of the great Cadbury magnates and has the most beautiiful gardens, not very big but encompassing trees, a walled garden, lawns, a small lake, streams and woodland all carefully tended to encourage wildlife. I heard no piped music in my time there and would be surprised if they use it but you could check by phone beforehand just in case.
Very pleasant pub serving decent, reasonably-priced food in this village south of Salisbury. The staff are exceptionally friendly. One or two speakers are visible but I gather that the usual policy is not to have any piped music.
